Flares
Flares are used to control the burning of excess or waste gas. Flares can be elevated with open flame, AKA Stick or Pipe flares, or can be enclosed flares or combustors. Flaring can be conducted for safety, reservoir management, various failures of instruments and valves, and if gas utilization is infeasible. Flaring also includes burning unwanted gas that gets produced from an oil or gas well which is of no use to the operator.
